In 1991, I bought my first Shih Tzu as a pet, and started attending dog shows. I became HOOKED on the whole dog show idea, and decided I needed a show dog of my own. I bought my very first show dog, Collin - CH Ah So Let It Be Me. He became a champion in short order and soon after I had to have another. I then contacted Jody Neal and purchased Sparkle, Am/Can CH Wingate's Dubbli Sparkli. Sparkle was presented in Canada by Carrie Randle. This forged a close relationship between her mother, Carol, and I. After Sparkle completed her Candadian Title, I sent her to handler - Kristi Trivilino - to complete her American title.
Next, I bought a beautiful female from Carol Randle, who became CH Symarun's Incredibly Debonair. This is my constant companion, Danielle. With my previous handlers retiring, I then approached a new handler, Tonia Holibaugh. After talking to her, I knew she would be able to present my dogs in the manner in which I would feel comfortable. She also was close by and I knew this would be beneficial for me to be able to develop a close working relationship with her.
So off Danielle went with Tonia (well not too far). Tonia showed her first in Houston where she won back-to-back 5 point majors in tough competition including a Specialty win. She showed her in 3 more shows in the next 2 weeks and finished her in just 6 shows total with 3 majors. Yes, I became spoiled!!!!
With Danielle, my other girls including her two daughters, Katie - CH Obsession's Incredibly Wild and Flirt - CH Obsession's Flirting with Danger, and my new boy Willie, CH Symarun's Obsession, bred by Carol Randle, I am moving to develop my own look with beautiful faces, gorgeous coats, happy outgoing attitudes and good movement. Without the wonderful friendships I have forged along the way, none of this would be possible. I hope everyone is able to find their own OBSESSION like I have with this wonderful and captivating breed and the fun sport of showing dogs!!
